Challenge to the appointment of Mr. Pedro Munar Cadena as magistrate of the High Judicial Council

Dejusticia challenges the election of Dr. Pedro Munar Cadena as judge of the High Judicial Council, as his appointment violated article 126 of the Constitution.

Article 126 of the Constitution prohibits judges from voting to appoint magistrates to the High Judicial Council when that magistrate himself appointed the voting judges. Dejusticia argued that by being appointed to the High Judicial Council by judges that Dr. Munar himself appointed, his appointment violated the Constitution.
