Request Under Colombian Freedom of Information Laws

Our request highlights both what has been done and what remains to be done for the creation and implementation of the Legal Commission for Monitoring Intelligence and Counterintelligence Activities.

Through the request filed today before several members of the Congress of the Republic, the Minister of Defense and the Technical Secretary of the Joint Intelligence Board requested compliance with the legal duty enshrined in articles 19 to 27 of the Statutory Law of Intelligence and Counterintelligence of the State (Law 1621 of 2013). Through these articles, the Legislator ordered the formation and start-up of the Legal Commission for Monitoring Intelligence and Counterintelligence Activities, in order to carry out functions of political control and monitoring of the intelligence and counterintelligence activities of the State.
