Dejusticia challenges the election of Dr. Nilson Pinilla Pinilla as new Judge of the Constitutional Court, due to violations of the Quotas Law and the restriction on voting for Dr. Pinilla by judges Dr. Pinilla had appointed.
Dejusticia argues that the lack of inclusion of a woman in the shortlist for the position violates articles 1, 2 and 6 of the Law 581 of 2000 and articles 13, 40 and 43 of the Political Constitution. Additionally, the list was developed by various Supreme Court of Justice Judges in whose election Dr. Nilson Pinilla participated, which constitutes a violation or article 126 of the Constitution.
