In the XXIII International Book Fair of Bogota, Corferias, the book “and they refounded the homeland… On how the mafia and politicians reconfigured the Colombian State ” was launched. This publication discusses the implications of the capture of the Colombian State by illegal armed groups. The book’s editor is Claudia López Hernández, but the publication is the result of a joint effort of the following research centers: Nuevo Arco Iris, Congreso Visible, the Grupo Método, the Electoral Observation Mission (MOE) and the Center for the Study of Law, Justice and Society (Dejusticia). The director Rodrigo Uprimny Yepes, the founding member Mauricio García Villegas, and the researcher Javier E. Rebolledo participated in name of Dejusticia studying two issues: 1) the constitutional implications of eight constitutional and legal reforms that the Congress passed in the last eight years, and ii) capture processes and resistance in the judiciary.
