Constitution, Democracy, and Rights: Selected Texts from Juan Jaramillo
Constitution, Democracy, and Rights is a compilation of some of Juan Fernando Jaramillo’s best constitutional law articles. He was a founding member of Dejusticia who passed away young four years ago.
Juan Jaramillo’s thinking revolves around constitutional law. But the perspective with which he addressed this issue was not disciplinary, but open to all social knowledge, especially history, sociology and political science. His work is not limited to the relations that the constitutional law maintains with each of these three areas. On the contrary, in their texts we can see a marked interest in understanding the Constitutions in all their complexity, from a social, historical and political perspective, with the understanding that none of these could give sufficient light without taking into account their relations with others.
