Amalia Pérez

Amalia graduated from Brown University in Political Science and International Relations with a thematic focus on statelessness and migration in Latin America. While at University, she co-founded the Kofán-Brown Student Alliance, which leveraged financial, social, and political resources in the Brown community to serve the Kofán indigenous nation in the Ecuadorian Amazon. She also held leadership positions at the Political Review and Journal of World Affairs. Prior to Dejusticia, she worked as a paralegal in immigration legal services at the National Immigrant Justice Center and at CASA of Maryland, and as an anti-poverty research consultant at the Inter-American Development Bank in Buenos Aires.
