Angélica earned a B.A. in Social Communication and Journalism from the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana of Medellín, with six years of professional experience covering environmental, scientific, public health and education issues for print and digital media. She worked for the newspaper El Espectador as writer of the Vivir section and also was the editor of the blog El Río, an initiative of Dejusticia and El Espectador. She is the author of two chapters of the Savia book collection, focused on the dissemination of national botany and winner of the Amway National Environmental Journalism Award in 2013.
