Paola holds a B.A. in Law and a postgraduate diploma in Constitutional Law from the National University of Colombia. She also holds an LL.M. in International Legal Studies from New York University and a Master’s degree in Sociology from the University of Los Andes. Paola has experience conducting research on transitional justice, women’s rights, and the rights of LGBTIQ+ individuals. She has served as a public official in various entities within the Transitional Justice System, the House of Representatives, and as an advisor in the Office of the High Commissioner for Peace (Presidency of the Republic) during the negotiation process with the FARC-EP. Her research interests include state bureaucracies, the sociology of law, and state capacity. She currently coordinates the Transitional Justice team at Dejusticia.
